Step inside a NYC townhouse turned into a paradise for high design

The Future Perfect outfitted a five-story West Village townhouse
for its new “residential gallery” concept

If you’re looking to sell high-end furniture, a plain old
store or gallery just doesn’t cut it these days. No, today if
you’re looking to entice buyers, you’ve got to
stage it in a home
, and bonus points if that home happens to be
a gorgeous five-story townhouse in New York City’s West
Village.

The gallery behind some of contemporary design’s biggest names
is doing exactly that. The Future Perfect has opened a new
“residential gallery” called Casa Perfect New
York
. Like the dreamy
Casa Perfect in Los Angeles
, the New York outpost will act as a
showroom-meets-gallery-meets-event space where the design-minded
can gather to ogle (and purchase) pieces.

Circling around a sculptural staircase designed by British
architect David
Chipperfield
, the townhouse’s five floors are outfitted with
works from designers, artists, manufactureres, and makers,
including Eric Roinestad,
Collection
Particulière
, and Marcin
Rusa
. A pair of Marta
Sala
’s angular chairs adorn former maids’ quarters; a
Piet Hein Eek for Veronese
chandelier dangles over a marbled bathtub.

The whole place is, in other words, perfectly and
extraordinarily unattainable for most people. But what better to
inspire retail than aspiration. Book a time to tour
the townhouse and see for yourself.
