Love your front-page article, “I want my car… chronic congestion is a top concern” (Feb. 9). The photo shows nightmarish traffic congestion, which has pretty much become the norm around the Bay Area.
The routine gridlock should make one ponder about the word “crisis” when referring to housing. My guess is “traffic crisis” or “gridlock crisis” is more appropriate, and will affect far more people, than the “housing crisis.”
Clearly, more packed housing around transportation centers, as some in our state government propose, will only worsen the current gridlock, if that is possible. There are better solutions to the housing shortage.
Letter: Which is worse: ‘housing crisis’ or ‘gridlock crisis’?
