The penthouse atop Quay Tower in Brooklyn Bridge Park could become the borough’s priciest home ever sold
A penthouse at Brooklyn Bridge Park’s Quay Tower is poised to break the record for the most expensive home ever sold in the borough. A source tells Curbed that a penthouse combo at the building—a mash-up of two units—is now in contract for $20 million. Douglas Elliman Development Marketing’s Andrew Anderson handled the sale.
If the property closes for anywhere close to that price, it would break the current record for the most expensive home sold in Brooklyn. That’s currently held by two townhouses: One in Cobble Hill that sold for $15.5 million in 2015, and one in Brooklyn Heights that was purchased by actors Jennifer Connolly and Paul Bettany for the same price. The priciest Brooklyn condo, meanwhile, is the clocktower penthouse of Dumbo’s 1 Main Street, which sold for $15 million. The sale at Quay Tower will smash that record, too.
Per our source, interior designers Marmol Radziner are combining the two penthouse apartments into one; when complete, it’ll 7,433 square feet, with five bedrooms and a private terrace that’s larger than many Brooklynites’ apartments—and comes with stellar views of Manhattan to boot. The building itself is designed by ODA New York’s Eran Chen.
