212 Fifth Avenue’s lavish penthouse returns with $11M price cut

The triplex penthouse first came on the market for $68.5 million
back in 2016

The penthouse at Nomad’s opulent 212 Fifth Avenue has seen all
sorts of price fluctuations over the years. In its latest outing on
the market, the 10,000-square-foot condo
is now asking $62.8 million
, an $11 million drop from
its previous asking price
of $73.8 million, in November last
year.

The Crown Penthouse, as this massive condo is officially known,
first appeared on the market in 2016
for $68.5 million
, making it one of the most expensive homes
for sale at the time (it’s still one of NYC’s most
expensive homes for sale
even after the latest price cut).

The triplex has five bedrooms, five and a half bathrooms, and
nearly 6,000 square feet of outdoor space. An observatory on the
third floor of the penthouse opens up into a 950 square foot
terrace that offers up views of the Empire State Building, the
Flatiron Building, and the World Trade Center.

Meanwhile, the rest of the Madison Equities-developed 212 Fifth
Avenue is now 85 percent sold, and there are only eight apartments
remaining on the market. Residents in the building will have access
to amenities like a Jay Wright-designed fitness center, a screening
room, and a golf simulator. Sotheby’s International Realty is
still in charge of sales at the condo.
